5 Ways to Increase Water Intake

  1. Set yourself up for success- If your goal is to drink 3 liters a day, make sure you have those available to you from the start. Make a pit stop on your way to work and pick up those 3 liters, that way they sit on your desk and they stare at you all day long!
  2. Make your water fun- adding fruit to your water makes it so much more fun and easy to drink. Lemon, lime, grapefruit, strawberries and mint are all great options.
  3. Use rubber bands to keep track- If you’re drinking out of one water bottle and refilling throughout the day, each time you fill up put a rubber band at the bottom of the bottle so you know how many you’ve had. It’s easy to under or over estimate if you aren’t keeping track.
  4. Drink when you rise- first thing in the morning is the perfect time to re-hydrate since you haven’t had any water for at least 8 hours. Try drinking a 16oz water bottle before and during breakfast, this will have you well on your way to your goal before you even leave the house.
  5. Remind yourself it’s not an option- if you want all of your hard work in the gym and in the kitchen to show, you have to stay hydrated—no excuses!
