Do not let the title scare you! I am not here to tell you to do 100 crunches until your motivation kicks back in. Instead, I want to talk to you about what to do when you lose your motivation to workout and eat healthy; and I want to share you with you some tools that I use that help keep me going during the rough patches.

Friday 5:30am – work up early again and went for another early morning run/walk. I finished my run at Starbucks and ordered my favorite drink: Venti Americano (hot) with two inches of steamed whole milk. Got back to my room around 7 and started getting ready for the day. I cooked eggs and bacon again, aaa

Hey guys! I recently visited the MRM headquarters in Oceanside, CA and I thought it would be really fun to type up a little behind the scenes blog so you guys could get a glimpse into what it’s like when I travel for work at these kinds of events.

So why isn’t more exercise the solution for problem areas? Well, for starters, body fat isn’t lost from one specific area at a time. You can’t target one specific area of fat on your body, rather you need to focus on overall body fat loss. So doing sit ups every day (although good for your core) likely will not get you those washboard abs you’ve been dreaming of. Read this blog from Natalie Hodson to learn a few tips on how to get rid of stubborn belly fat.

Start the year off right

I often have friends or family members tell me that they really want to start eating healthier and getting back in shape, but they aren’t sure where to start, or that it all seems so overwhelming.  I can always understand where they are coming from because that is exactly how I felt when I first got started!  Although I had been an athlete for most of my life, after I had my first son and gained over 60lbs, and I felt so lost on where to even start.  I thought I would share with you guys the exact same tips I would give to my friends or family when I get asked this question.

This is the questions that I get asked multiple times a day either on my Facebook page or blog. I should preface all of this by saying that I am not a physician or licensed dietitian. If you have any specific questions above and beyond what I have talked about here I recommend you talk with your midwife, OBGYN or family physician about it and get their professional opinion. Although I am not a physician, I nursed both my children for 20 and 15 months and so I have personal experience and want to share with you guys some things that helped me along the way.
