Having a gym buddy or partner is one of the best ways to keep yourself accountable for making time for your health and fitness. Having a social responsibility to show up because other people are depending on you makes it a lot easier to show up at a scheduled time. I mean, you don’t want to let them down, right? Right. Here’s a list of ways you can find a partner and smash your goals like crazy!
Step one: Get a gym partner! It can be anyone- your friend, sister, brother, someone you just meet at the gym and asked if they’d like to be your gym buddy! Get that partner, and start holding each other accountable. You can even use that person as a support system when you’re not feeling super motivated, or you’re trying to fight off a massive sweet tooth craving.
Step two: make a concrete schedule! Once you have your gym partner you can decide on a few days and times that you’ll consistently meet up for. For example, it could be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 AM and Friday afternoon at 6:00 PM. So every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday you’ll be there, with each other, working out and encouraging each other to keep going!
Step three: Have a plan! Once you have your days picked out, decide what you’ll do on each day. Tuesdays could be Upper Body, Thursdays could be Lower Body, and Friday could be full body HIIT and stretching! Once you have a solid foundation like this, you’re bound to see results and create a strong bond between you and your new, or old, friend.
Having a gym buddy works- so why not try it out? You’ll have more fun, come up with different ideas for how to work out, and be entertained! It’s a win-win situation. So get after it- find your gym buddy, and find your healthy!
