Apple Pie Protein Porridge

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away!” Apple skin contains beneficial soluble fiber called pectin, which is a complex carbohydrate found in the cell membranes of fruits and vegetables. Apple pectin has been linked to lower blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels while regulating the digestive system. This warming Apple Pie porridge will provide all these benefits, all while being extremely healthy and satisfying.


  • 1 medium gala apple
  • ½ cup Bob’s Red Mill Creamy Buckwheat Cereal
  • 1 cup finely riced cauliflower
  • 10 oz boiling water (1.25 cups)
  • ½ scoop MRM Cinnamon Bun Veggie Elite
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg


  • Cut your apple in half and chop both halves into bite-sized pieces. Set one half aside.
  • Place the cauliflower, buckwheat and ½ chopped apple into a microwave safe bowl or Tupperware.
  • Pour in the boiling water and stir everything together.
  • Microwave on high for 2 minutes
  • Remove from the microwave and stir in MRM protein, vanilla, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg.
  • Toss the other half of the apple pieces in cinnamon and add to the top of the porridge with a healthy spoon of peanut butter or almond butter.
