Matcha White Chocolate Lava Cake
Everyone knows you can't go wrong with a chocolate lava cake- so we decided to make one, but make it a little interesting. Enter: white chocolate and matcha green tea! That's right, the traditional dessert got quite the make over, it it's to-die for! The matcha powder adds a little health boost to your indulgent dessert and the white chocolate brightens and sweetened the subtle green tea flavor to absolute perfection.
MRM Matcha Green Tea Powder 2 Eggs
2/3 C White chocolate chips
½ C Granulated sugar (Use coconut sugar as an alternative)
½ C All purpose flour
½ C Unsalted butter (plus a little extra to grease the tins)
Pinch of sea salt
Grease the inner lining of 4 ramekins or small individual cake tins with the excess butter and sprinkle with flour. (This will prevent the cakes from sticking when removing them from the tins.)
Melt the white chocolate with the butter in a bowl, placed over a pan of simmering water. (Make sure the bowl is safe for use in high heat.)
In a Mixer, beat the eggs and sugar together until pale and fluffy. Add the pinch of salt. While mixing slowly add the melted chocolate and butter mix until fully combined.
Using a spatula, add and fold in the flour into the egg and butter mixture until just combined. Be careful not to over mix.
Pour the cake mix into the lined moulds and place in the fridge until you are ready to bake them.
When ready to bake preheat the oven to 350f and bake for 8-10 minutes.
Serve with ice cream, fresh cream, or a handful of fresh berries... or all 3 because DESSERT!
