Meatloaf With Red Beet Sauce

Take traditional meat loaf and make it even better? Done and done! We used lean ground turkey meat and added some MRM Raw Organic Superfood Red Beet Superfood Powder to make this dish heart healthy and packed with antioxidants and fiber. While the health benefits of this meatloaf are through the roof the taste is just as phenomenal. Don't believe us? Try it for yourself and prepare to be AMAZED!


  • 1Lb Organic Lean Ground Turkey
  • 1 Cup White Onion (diced)
  • 3 Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • 1 Cup Carrot (diced)
  • 1 Cup White Mushrooms (diced)
  • 3 Tbsp Fine Breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • 1 tsp Finely Chopped Thyme
  • 2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper
  • SAUCE:
  • 2 Shallots (finely chopped)
  • 3 Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • 1⁄2 Cup Chickpeas
  • 1 8oz Canned Organic Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp MRM Raw Organic Red Beet Superfood Powder
  • 2 Tbsp Frazier Farms Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 8 Large Basil Leaves (torn)
  • 1⁄2 Cup Cold Water (to thin if required)
  • Sea Salt, To Taste


  1. Preheat Oven to 375F.
  2. Meatloaf:
  3. Heat the Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a medium sized pan and add the onion, garlic, carrot and mushroom. Gently cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool.
  4. In a mixing bowl combine the turkey, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, egg and a pinch of salt and pepper to season.
  5. Add the cooled onion, carrot, mushroom and garlic and mix thoroughly. Mold the meatloaf to required shape (using your hands or a loaf tin) and place in the fridge to chill for 20 minutes.
  6. SAUCE:
  7. While chilling in the fridge, make your sauce by heating a small pan to high heat with the Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
  8. Add the shallots and garlic and quickly fry in Extra Virgin Olive Oil for 2 minutes. Add the chickpeas, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, red beet powder, a pinch of salt, and gently simmer for 15 minutes. Finish with the torn basil. (It may require a splash of water to thin depending on preference)
  9. Heat an oven compatible skillet to high heat with a splash of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Remove meatloaf from the fridge and place in the pan to brown on all sides. Then carefully transfer the pan to the oven and cook for 18 - 20 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven and cover with the Red Beet sauce and place back in the oven for another 5 minutes. Remove, slice and enjoy!
