Mesquite, sage, apricot, and apple stuffing
Stuffing is a Thanksgiving day staple in any home, and we're no different. This recipe carries all the traditional flavors that make your mouth water, taste buds sing, and soul cry out for joy... Yes, it is actually THAT good. We used our Mesquite Superfood Powder to add in extra nutrients and a subtly sweet taste to really bring all of the stuffing flavors together.
1 Onion (diced)
1 Tbsp sage (picked/chopped)
1 Tbsp fresh thyme (picked/chopped)
1 Tbsp fresh parsley (picked/chopped)
MRM mesquite powder 3 Stalks of celery (chopped)
½ C chopped apricots
2 Tbsp dried cranberries, chopped
2 Granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
3 Cups chicken/vegetable broth
1 Stale loaf of preferred bread, roughly torn
Sea salt & pepper to taste
2 Tbsp olive oil
Pre heat the oven to 375F and grease a 3 quart baking dish with a light layer of butter.
Bring the broth to a boil, add the thyme, then remove from heat.
Heat the olive oil in a medium sized pot on medium heat and gently cook down the onion & celery for 2-3minutes.
Next, add the mesquite, apricots, cranberries, and apples to the onion and celery and cook for another 3 minutes.
Add the sage, parsley, salt, and pepper then remove from heat to cool slightly, about 5 minutes or so.
Add the bread to the onion blend, then stir in the eggs and broth and give it a good mix making sure everything is evenly coated.
Transfer to the greased baking dish and bake for 18-20 minutes.
