MRM’s Organic Mesquite Powder is now available! This powder has a very distinct, smoky, BBQ-like flavor so we thought what better way to pair it with some sweet potatoes for a healthy but delicious side dish. The combination of flavors is perfect together which makes these fries pretty addicting, so beware. Mesquite contains protein, a good source of soluble fiber, magnesium, potassium and calcium.

2 large sweet potatoes
1/3 cup of olive oil, enough to coat potatoes
2 cloves of garlic, minced
¾ tablespoon of MRM organic mesquite powder
¼ teaspoon of chili powder
½ teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of fresh cracked pepper
Drizzle of honey
Preheat oven to 350F. 50-60 minutes. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Chop potatoes by halving, halving once more, then cutting into wedges, then strips. Place in large bowl, coat with olive oil. Add minced garlic, MRM mesquite powder, chili powder, salt, fresh cracked pepper and a drizzle of honey. Then mix well so the potatoes are well coated with all the ingredients. Lay potatoes out in a single layer on the baking sheet. Place in oven for about 50 minutes until the potatoes start to crisp up. Mix the potatoes up about half way through so the potatoes get cook evenly. Then serve!
