Edamame, or the soybean, is one of my absolute favorite sources of plant-based protein because they are a complete protein, meaning they contain all 9 essential amino acids necessary for protein synthesis in the body. However, edamame has a great ratio of protein, carbs and fat (along with an awesome dose of fiber), making this crunchy treat an awesome post-workout snack to maximize muscular gains and replenish carbohydrates.
2 cups frozen, shelled edamame (thawed)
¼ tsp chili powder
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
½ tbsp. MRM Mesquite Powder
1 tsp olive oil
Preheat your oven to 375F.
Thaw your edamame in the microwave and place in a bowl.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix to combine.
Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and coat with non-stick spray.
Spread the edamame evenly on the tray and place in the oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the edamame is browned.
Remove from the oven and store in an airtight container.
