These energy balls are SO. FREAKING. GOOD. Seriously- who would have thought that Spirulina could taste so delicious? Ok, well... we did- but still! You will love the orange zest and cocoa powder as it compliments the vegetal spirulina flavor sweetened naturally by the dates and maple syrup. Spirulina is an amazing micro algae bursting with health benefits: Amino Acids, Vitamins, Minerals, and Clorophyll. Spirulina has a very green flavor, and an incredibly rich color. Guacamole is already a pretty healthy topping or dip, but being the health freaks we are we wanted to up the benefits! Adding Spirulina boosts the protein, vitamin, and mineral content of this dish without compromising the taste. This guacamole is perfect as a dip, for both hot and cold foods, and is rumored to taste amazing on fish tacos and in breakfast burritos... we certainly don't doubt it.
